Dewi Thompson - Counselling

Sometimes it is difficult to talk to those close to you about things that are troubling you. You may feel embarrassed about what is bothering you, or you may feel that you will get a bad reaction if you tell someone close to you.
Counselling can give you that opportunity to talk to someone who can help you look at how you are feeling without judging you and giving you their own opinion on what you should do.

dewi thompsonAbout Me

My name is Dewi and I am an Accredited and experienced therapist based in Cheshire.
I offer a professional one-to-one counselling service to adult clients working with a broad range of common issues, including anger, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, bereavement, loss, relationship difficulties, and substance misuse. I work with clients to help them identify, understand and resolve or manage the issues which have brought them to counselling.
My aim is to help you explore the issues you have raised and help you get a better understanding of why you think or feel the way you do.
Together we can help you find the strength and resilience within you to move forward and make the most from life.
I am an integrative therapist and I hope to build a therapeutic relationship using the core skills of person-centred counselling, while sometimes using further skills such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.

About Counselling

In my experience I have found that sometimes people find it difficult to talk to those close to them about things that are troubling them. Counselling can give you that opportunity to talk to someone who can help you look at how you are feeling without judging you and giving you their own opinion on what you should do.
As a counsellor I try to create a space which helps you to talk openly and comfortably about yourself and how you are feeling. Sometimes people find that they feel much better after only a few sessions, while some prefer to see a counsellor for weeks or months. We are all different, and everybody feels and reacts to life events in different ways, so it is important not to be hard on yourself because other people seem to be “handling things better”. This is something that we talk about during the course of the therapy.
