What is CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

CBT is a 'talking therapy', whereby a therapist helps the individual to identify and challenge how their thoughts and behaviours can influence the way they feel during times of distress.

A CBT Therapist works alongside the individual, helping them to identify how their unhelpful thinking and behavioural patterns influence their problems.  By doing so, the individual can then recognise the maintainence cycle and challenge both their thinking and behavioural patterns, resulting in a major improvement of how the individual feels and lives.

CBT offers a wide range of therapies, based on concepts derived from psychological models of human emotion and behaviour.
